The Book of Emotions
or – how it feels to feel
This book on emotions and feelings is created as a guide to everybody and anybody who has shut down or lost their internal navigation system in life.
It opens the door to explore one emotion at a time: anger. freedom, support, vulnerability, trust, hope, shame, peace, fear, joy, grief and courage.
Using my craft – graphic art and book design, I opened the invitation to heart leaders, highly sensitives, empaths and survivors that felt called to write and they contribute their perspective on an emotion.

The background
Sometimes we shut down, turn off our emotions. It might be our way to make it through. Our way to stay sane and keep some parts of ourselves safe.
Almost everybody do it, but some of us have felt the need to tune out for long periods, months or even years.
For me, it became years. The chaos around and within me was to complex to cope with. Without really noticing I pushed my feelings down and away and emotion after emotion was shut off.
And then the day came when I felt safe and secure enough to want to smile and I noticed that I lost the ability to freely feel.

Range of Emotions
There are a lot of amazing books on life journeys, healing from trauma and surviving. Being a highly sensitive person and empath myself, I get deeply engaged and sometimes lost in stories.
The Book of Emotions works as a guide back to self. It’s not about the how and why we lose our feelings, it’s a way to make it easier to relearn, re-connect and recognize our feelings.
Anger. freedom, support, vulnerability, trust, hope, shame, homecoming, peace, fear, joy, grief, courage and the language of emotions – you can use the book to open the door to explore one emotion at a time.

The idea & the invitation
The Book of Emotions was initially intended as a manual of feelings. The seed sprouted and bloomed to be so much more.
During 2017 I sent out an open invitation each month to heart leaders, highly sensitives, empaths and survivors to write and contribute with their perspective on a feeling and emotion. I explored the emotions with my craft – graphic art and book design and each month a chapter was released.
My goal was to create a small encyclopedia on emotions for anybody and everybody who needed guidance – and here it is, The Book of Emotions.
About Anna
Anna Linder is a graphic artist and book designer. She’s also a writer but not quite accepting of that role yet.
She felt called to create this book as a guide to everybody and anybody who has shut down or lost their internal navigation system in life.
Anna has lived with addiction, depression, anxiety, co-dependency, emotional and verbal abuse. She’s also experienced healing, the wonders of yoga, the magic in nature and the support of deep feeling conscious women who lead with their hearts.
Anna’s wish for herself and her readers is to navigate life with more ease through identifying feelings and learning more from them.
